Mini Facelifts

Mini Facelifts also known as "Weekend Facelifts"

Sometimes patients will need mini facelifts instead of a full facelift. Mini facelifts help reduce the sagging around the cheeks, the jaw line and the neck removing the excess skin and the wrinkles. Mini Facelifts are less invasive then a full facelift and require less downtime. Mini facelift also costs less than a full facelift and are a good option for people who don't have excessive sagging skin and only require minimal correction.

What is a Mini Facelift?

The mini facelift is much like the full facelift however it focuses more on specific areas of the face examples such as the folds around the nose, or the wrinkles around the lips. By using the smaller incisions the doctors lifts and removes the facial tissues and pulls the muscles tighter, the doctor then carefully repositions the skin by using small sutures. The mini facelift is also called the “weekend facelift” because the procedure itself is quicker and the healing time is much faster than a full facelift.

Who is right for a Mini Facelift?

Mini facelifts are more for the patients who have just seen the first signs of aging, and small sun spots. Most mini facelift candidates are ready to change some physical wrinkle lines on their face or mild signs of sagginess and wrinkles; however is not ready or even needs the full facelift. Many candidates that are their 30’s or 40’s get the mini facelift. Also, after these patients get mini facelifts they are less likely to need a full face lift later down the road.

Difference between a Mini Facelift and a Full Facelift

A full facelift will help sagging skin, wrinkles and age spots on the entire face. The Facelift literally pulls up the entire face and removes wrinkles on the entire area of the face. A full facelift can also lift the brows and forehead. However, Mini facelifts go to the specific location on the face and to helps remove the saggy skin, wrinkles and age spots. Mini facelifts do not lift the eye brows or the forehead.

Mini Facelifts Technique

After the patient and the doctor discuss that the mini Facelift is right for that patient, the doctor then tells the patient whether they will need endoscopic or non-endoscopic technique for their mini facelift. It is simply just two different techniques the doctors can use to perform mini facelifts.

Endoscopic technique is when the doctor inserts surgical instruments through the small cuts made around the specific locations; the instruments are to help remove excess fat and help reshape muscles in the locations. With the endoscopic technique the doctor can watch the procedure via a small camera that is inserted in the skin. Non-endoscopic is more incisions then the endoscopic.

The non- endoscopic is when the doctor pulls the skin over and exposes the area to be treated.

Both techniques help with the process of a Mini Facelift.

Cost of the Mini Facelift
